YUSUF AFOX'E IS OF MIXED SOUTHEASTERN NATIVE AMERICAN AND AFRICAN AMERICAN HERITAGE. HIS MOTHER AND FATHER ARE BOTH BLACK INDIAN MIXED BLOODS BORN IN ALABAMA, YUSUF WAS BORN IN 1967 ON A NAVAL MILITARY BASE IN CHARLESTON SOUTH CAROLINA WHEN HIS FATHER WAS IN THE AIR FORCE. YUSUF HAS BEEN AN ARTIST FOR ALL HIS LIFE, HE ATTENDED THE COLUMBUS COLLEGE OF ART AND DESIGN IN 1989 FOR OVER3 YEARS. HE HAS ATTENDED MANY ART SHOWS AND
FESTIVALS FOR OVER 20 YEARS DISPLAYING AND SELLING
HIS WORKS. HE HAS SHOWN HIS ART WORKS AT MANY EXHIBITIONS IN COLUMBUS, OHIO
OVER THE YEARS SUCH AS AT THE KING ARTS COMPLEX AND
THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY.

TOLD FROM A MIXED MOORISH (BLACK) AND NATIVE AMERICAN

POLITICAL VIEWS THROUGH ART, POETRY AND CREATIVE

Like your work, love your insight. My mom's folks folks go back to Alabama and Mississippi in the mid 1800s, I think they were native to the land. After my forefolks moved to Ohio nobody talked about life down south.
